A few subjects you can study at FIIT STU
The subject deals mainly with the principles of designing user interfaces with regard to their look and usability. You will learn how to create such interfaces and how to present information in an understandable form, how to create quick interface prototypes and how to check their functionality and usability.
Computer graphics principles
The aim of the subject is to provide a basic knowledge of 2D graphics, image processing 3D graphics, lighting and animation with an emphasis on their practical use. You will get practical experience in designing applications using modern graphic cards.
Information security principles
You will learn the basic principles of information security from both technical and managerial points of view. How to find signs of an attack, procedures to recover after an attack or accident, how to design systems with regard to their security, the basics of cryptography and the basic characteristics of malicious codes.
You will learn how to make a computer behave smartly. You will learn how to programme independent agents, neural networks and the basics of machine learning.
Data structures and algorithms
You will learn to design solutions for various programming tasks so that they are quick, smart and have the lowest possible memory demand.

AdvanSD- Advanced Software Development research group
Representation and reuse of software knowledge, its understanding and quality. Interconnection and visualisation of software knowledge using multidimensional software modelling and model products.
Application: digital education, telemedicine, user experience
BLOCKCHAIN AND FINTECH LAB
Research of current use-cases, mainly in Applied Informatics, Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (ledger tech), with a focus on the progress of the technical development and innovation of blockchain and FinTech applications in the real world.
Application: Decentralized systems; Internet of Things; E-Government; Real-estate market; Interoperability; Payment gateways; Protection against money laundering
Automotive innovation lab
Focus on Cooperative Connected Automated Mobility (CCAM) and Advanced Driver Assistant Systems (ADAS). In cooperation with FEM (SJF). FIIT places emphasis on wireless communication, mobile and satellite networks, SDN and Digital Twin approaches.
Application: V2x, CCAM, Wi-fi, Internet of Things, 5G ecosystem, LEO satellite mobile networks, Virtualisation of network functions, SDN.
VISUAL AND IMAGE COMPUTING
Interpretation and understanding of natural images and other types of visual data using artificial intelligence. Use and interpretation of deep neural networks.
Application: Computer vision and graphics; Medical imaging
brAInworks – Artificial intelligence and knowledge discovery
Examining and applying innovative computer methods. Using real-time analysis and data processing with the help of artificial intelligence in the area of preventive medicine. Using methods from statistics to machine learning, or calculations inspired by biological models.
